We are looking for an exceptionally sharp legal thinker with a passion for deep legal analysis and persuasive writing. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on the intellectual challenge of commercial litigation and is eager to develop expertise in a niche, high-stakes area of law. Courtroom experience is not required – what matters is your ability to think critically, analyze complex legal issues, and craft compelling legal arguments.
About the Role
- Full-time associate position (2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation from any Canadian jurisdiction).
- Experience in franchise litigation is not necessary, but strong legal reasoning and writing skills are essential.
- Primary focus: Legal analysis, strategic case development, and high-level written advocacy.
- Work closely with Ben Hanuka, a leading practitioner in franchise litigation, and be part of a small, highly focused, and collaborative team that values rigour and depth in legal work.
- Hybrid position with regular in-person meetings at our downtown Toronto office (for GTA-based candidates). Remote work will be considered for out-of-province applicants.
