Law Works Professional Development is please to announce the launch of The Intensive Course on Franchise Rescission Law and Practice.

This 3-month course is the first and only intensive CPD-accredited professional development program for lawyers designed to provide the necessary building blocks to practise in this field. In addition to gaining an understanding of franchise rescission law, registered lawyers will work towards accumulating their CPD hours for the year.  The program has been approved for the following hours:

  • In Ontario: This program is eligible for 3 professionalism hours; 1 EDI professionalism hour and up to 34 substantive hours.
  • In British Columbia: This program is eligible for up to 38 Substantive Hours
  • In Alberta: Lawyers are encouraged to include the course in their annual professional development plan.

The initial class will be delivered by Program Director and Lead Instructor, Ben Hanuka, and will run from September 7 to November 27, 2024 for the cost of $2,405 CDN (plus tax). The intensive program is made up of 38 hours of instructional time, assignments, and a final two-hour exam.  The two-hour weekly classes and four Saturday sessions will be taught over Zoom with the option of the Saturdays being held in-person, dependent the preference and geographical location of the registrants.  A Certificate of Completion will be issued to graduates.  Click here for more information or to register for the class.
